What I'm doing differently with the launch of our second brand

A season of growth

Hey Reader,

Popping into your inbox today to share some things I reflected on during my morning walk. If you follow us on Instagram, you might know we are launching a new brand in June. This is our first major launch since Brand in a Week in 2020. It's also something completely new that we've never done before.

Despite jumping into new territory, I'm feeling really at ease and honestly so excited for what's ahead I can hardly stand it. As I was on my walk this morning, I realized that this launch feels a lot different and part of that is due to growth and a shift in mindset.

Sure, I'm bringing nearly 8 years of experience to the development of this brand, but it's more than that -- it's a surety that this is where we want to chart our course.

Honeycomb won't be going anywhere, but this new brand is something I've dreamed of for years and solves a core need I've been aware of for years. Today, rather than continuing with the cryptic messaging about what the launch might be, I wanted to share a few things I'm doing differently this time around:

#1: Getting my ducks in a row with Honeycomb

Before diving in head first into developing a new brand, I needed to make sure that Honeycomb was all set. We recently refreshed our website top to bottom to better reflect where we are headed. I also looked over all our systems and client experience to take note of any areas for optimization and automation. In the process of launching something new, I refuse for our core business to suffer or clients to have a lesser experience. They come first and this new brand flows around that.

I'm honestly so thrilled with our new look which aligns with my vision of our brand. We don't talk enough about the difficulties designing for yourself -- so having something I love feels so gratifying and I can't wait to see the incredible clients we get to partner with this spring and summer.

P.S. We are currently booking for March, April, and May. If you're eager to get a brand and website launched before the summer, let's chat! Our earliest available kickoff is March 18th which means you'll be all ready to go before Q1 is over! You can book a free discovery call here.

#2: I'm tapping into my own resources

You heard that right, I'm using my own Brand in a Week method to develop this new brand. Our Brand in a Week clients tend to fall into two buckets: pre-launch businesses and established businesses. In this case, I'm both. This is a new brand for an established business. So I'm using my prep work to inform our brand strategy and then once we are closer to launch, I'll set aside a week to walk us through the EXACT process we use for our clients to develop the branding and website for this new brand.

I'll also use this time to peel through the Brand in a Week process (something we currently do every year) to look for opportunities for clarity, expansion, or simplification. I love stacking business functions!

#3: I'm delegating

I'll be honest, this wasn't always my strong suit but it's so necessary if we want to keep our launch schedule. My right-hand gal, Elizabeth will be taking over content soon and she already manages Pinterest. We will develop the strategy and then she will execute on it so I can continue the product development behind the scenes.

We've also planned a time where she can come down to prep in-person. We will shoot all the launch content in one day and make our final preparations for the 6 weeks before the official launch.

#4: Tapping into resources + leaning on my systems

We have some core systems in place that I'm leaning on to do the heavy lifting. Specifically, we will be using ClickUp and Azura for project management and communication respectively. ClickUp is the hub for all things deadlines and tasks. Azura is where we can communicate throughout the day and also use for bouncing ideas before they become official tasks.

Beyond our systems, I'll also be using Reveal Studio Co's Digital Sellers Copy Kit to guide our launch. Digital products are new territory for me and I'm tapping into a resource I KNOW will be crucial for launch success. Kaili is an internet friend and trusted service provider. I'm currently a tester on this product (which goes live in March) and the value is INSANE. If you're interested, there's a waitlist here.

P.S. Azura just launched and I'm so obsessed (more on that in an upcoming newsletter) but if you are curious and want to try this Slack/Telegram/Voxer alternative built by female founders and an all-female team, you can use this link for a 7-day free trial and 10% off your first month.

#5: Cycle Syncing for an Optimized Work Schedule

Over the past two years I've been on a health journey which largely focused on optimizing my hormone health. It's been a long road, but I'm finally seeing the light and feeling fully myself. Part of that journey has included cycle syncing -- the process of aligning your life to your cycle rhythms. I do this primarily through my diet, workouts, and meetings. I hadn't really done as much of that work in my business. That's now changed. My cycle is mapped out on my calendar, Brand in a Week dates are now set up during optimized weeks of my cycle and I'm also positioning launch deadlines at opportune times.

This is still a new-ish area to me and I'm really excited for a free workshop I'm attending tomorrow with The Intuitive OBM. One, she's incredible and two, she's done so much of this work and is sharing it FOR FREE. If you're curious about doing this in your business too, sign up here.

#6: Not setting expectations too early and not solely relying on myself to sell.

Something I'm mindful of with this launch is not setting expectations too early. This is a "know thyself" moment. I am excited and hopeful about the people we will be calling in through this new brand. However, I'm not putting expectations around numbers, stats, or success right now. I'm focusing on the products we are developing and envisioning the wins they will bring to our community.

I'm also taking the pressure off myself to not be the only one selling. I know this is a fast way to burn out for me and so I'll be introducing affiliates. As we get closer to announcing the launch, I'll release a sign-up for if you're interested in helping us get the word out (while also getting paid). I'm truly excited about building a community of advocates for this new brand because so many have graciously spread the word about Honeycomb since we launched nearly 8 years ago.

If you're still reading, thank you for sticking with me. My business journey over the past eight years has been nothing short of life-changing. Our community is next to none and I'm so grateful for your support whether you've been here since the beginning or you're just finding us now.

This next chapter looks to be a bright one and I'm excited that you'll be here to see it all unfold.

Until the next one, take care of yourself and be kind to yourself!

Cheers,

Callie

Hi Reader, I've been in a time of deep reflection and planning since the start of the new year. Most of that reflection is around the future of Honeycomb and how I want this business to evolve as Chris and I begin to plan on having children. However, there are also other things that are coming up like a desire to break free from Instagram and create different methods for developing relationships. That's ultimately led me to begin writing again, this time on Substack. In today's post I'm...

Hi friend, Lengthy catch up ahead so if you're not interested in scrolling to the bottom, there's 25% off the entire Cowork shop right now through the end of the week, no code needed. Okay now that we have that out of the way, let's gab! It's been awhile since I've dropped into your inbox. There's so much I want to tell you about the last few months -- about the work we're doing, being off Instagram, and what's ahead for 2025. If I had to use one word to sum up this year it is alignment....

Well, Reader, it's been a minute... I've not been in your inbox since the launch of Cowork and it's truly for no other reason than I've been in some really deep work lately. I've been in the kind of work that leaves me feeling both deeply fulfilled and at the same time without many "takeaways" or "learning lessons" or "hot takes". I'm doing the kind of work I've always dreamed of: a convergence of my design skills with my "loves to solve a puzzle" marketing brain. The funny thing is, this...
